I could uninstall the program and reinstall it and get about another 2-3 slices from the program before it would begin to freeze again. I have also tried other slicers like Prusaslicer and that too after a time will eventually freeze. When I go to the launch the program it cycles through GUI but as soon as the program itself opens, it freezes part way through loading. Shortly after that, I am unable to open Cura. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but this is one of the things I noticed around the timeframe. I later uninstalled the default MacAfee antivirus and loaded Kaspersky total security (previously paid for the service on another machine). Cura 4.7.x, 4.8.0 Beta, and finally 4.8.0 worked great when I first installed them on the new computer. About 4 weeks ago I got a stronger laptop for work from home and for printing. MINGDA_definitions_D3_D4_Rock3_cataclism.I have been printing now for a little over a year and have almost exclusively used Cura as my slicer.

Method 2 (Provided by user Rszasz): After uninstalling Cura through the windows uninstall utility, open a new file explorer window. In order to get to the "AppData" folder you must have view hidden files enabled.

Method 1: After uninstalling Cura through the windows uninstall utility, you must manually go to C:\Program Files and delete any Cura files and also go to C:\Users(Your username)\AppData\Roaming and delete the entire Cura folder there also. You can do so by following one of the following methods. For some reason Cura doesn't fully uninstall itself. You must completely uninstall ANY old files associated with previous installations of Cura. ~THE FOLLOWING WILL UNINSTALL ALL YOUR CURRENT SETTINGS! YOU MUST MANUALLY BACKUP YOUR CURRENT SETTINGS IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM.~
